The 27-year-old iZombie actress just arrived back from DragonCon in Atlanta, where she joined co-stars Rose McIver and David Anders for a fan meet and greet, plus a panel.

“Wishing you a great #laborday weekend from Moneypenny and these fantastic Atlanta cops who escorted us while in town (yes we were driven in a motorcade and felt super badass),” Aly captioned with a pic on Instagram with her dog and two of the police officers.
She added, “Saying we had a good time today would be an understatement! Loved seeing such creative #iZombie cosplay.”
One of the greatest pieces of news this year was when Aly & AJ told us all that they were making brand new music.
In a recent interview, AJ opened up about the sisters’ decision to return to their music and what fans can expect for their new sound.
Here’s all what we know so far:
They’re planning a 10-song EP
“We’re kind of writing three records and making one,” AJ says. “It’s always smarter to write more material than needed so that all you have to do is narrow it down afterwards.”
She adds: “We’d probably want to make a 10 song record but I think our plan is to find three songs we absolutely love and get those out first.”

They’re doing things different this time
“Times have definitely changed and so were definitely starting to strategize on how well be streaming and releasing our music,” she says. “Using those types of platforms is probably the most important way to reintroduce ourselves.”
On their break from music
“We took a pause for a long time because we just weren’t feeling inspired,” AJ shared, adding, “”There was definitely a sense of writers block going on and we were very fearful of that.”
She continues, “There was also this sense of doubt about whether wed be able to prove ourselves as adults. I think, for a long time, we were definitely our own worst enemy because we were thinking that maybe music wasnt for us anymore.”
Their influences this time around are really different
“We’ve actually referenced so many great artists for this past record. Kate Bush has been such a big influence for us. Also, bands like Beach House, St. Lucia and Tame Impala definitely have the sound we love.”
AJ adds, “For me, its just about the sonic energy that you get when you listen to a record and your ears just tingle because you’re so excited about what youre hearing. Thats what Aly and I aim for…We’ve been singing together for so long that its easy to get stuck in this kind of robotic sound so its just about making it fresh again and finding ways to harmonize in a cool way that sounds and feels real to us.

The Nickelodeon star turned heads in a gorgeous sparkly gown at the 2017 Race To Erase MS Gala last night in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Lizzy was joined at the annual event by Skai Jackson, Megan Nicole and Francesca Capaldi.

Steven R. McQueen brought girlfriend Allie Silva to the event, and also joined iZombie‘s Aly Michalka, and model sisters Amelia Hamlin and Delilah Belle.

Well actually, longtime friends and current Famous in Love co-stars Georgie Flores and Carter Jenkins hung out in real life at the Oliver Peoples 30th Anniversary Party on Friday (May 12) at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
Georgie was seen meeting up with pal Aly Michalka at the event.
Other celebs who were in attendance included Claire Holt, Zoe Levin, and Dylan Brosnan.

The cast of iZombie gets signing at the autograph booth during 2017 Comic Con on Friday (July 21) in San Diego, Calif.
Rose McIver, Robert Buckley, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, David Anders and Aly Michalka all stopped by the booth to meet fans just ahead of the screening at the event.
During the panel, the cast also gave fans a surprise that Robert Knepper, Blaine’s dad, will be joining the new season as a series regular.

Aly & AJ fans unite and rejoice — because new music is coming and we’re all not prepared for it.
The singing sisters and actresses opened up in a Facebook Live chat about their highly anticipated return to the music world.
“I think nostalgic is kind of the word we’re getting a lot,” AJ says about their new stuff. “Aly and I are really excited about this music.”
She adds, “As you know, it’s been 10 years since we’ve released new material and I’m really excited about getting back out there.
“The music has a little bit of an ’80s-inspired, electronic pop sound that I think is fresh and new, with the chemistry Aly and I possess.”
Aly and AJ also revealed that their upcoming 4-track EP, which includes “I Know” and “The Distance”, will be here before we know it and a full length album is coming in 2018.

We’ve actually never noticed this, but Aly Michalka has always been blonde when Aly & AJ are releasing music.
“It’s not on purpose, but that’s a good point,” she pointed out in a new interview with Allure.
While talking about her and AJ’s go-to beauty products and regimes, Aly opened up about her hair color and how it’s gone from blonde to bronde to brunette, and back again.
“I wanted to experiment with going back to blonde because I hadn’t been blonde in, like, five years,” Aly adds. “I just figured, hey, why don’t I just go back to blonde during this hiatus where I don’t need to be a brunette for iZombie for six months.”
She continues, “It was fun for time being, but I don’t feel like myself as much when I’m blonde. Being as dark as I was for 78violet stuff was a fun change up, but I kinda like being right in the middle. I like being considered a brunette — but a light brunette.”

Aly & AJ are officially back and our Friday just got instantly better.
The sister duo — Aly and AJ Michalka — dropped their first single in more than 10 years (as Aly & AJ).
“We’re really excited, and this single really represents the new sound and, just, us as adult artists. It’s been a long time coming,” they shared with ET.
They went on to describe what fans can expect from any future music from them.
“We have a bunch of different music that has influenced us over the years, since we were growing up. But it’s funny, when we played the music to our friends, a lot of them were saying, ‘It’s very nostalgic sounding,’” AJ says. “So I don’t know necessarily what that means, but I was like, ‘I like nostalgia, so OK.’”
“But it’s definitely aiming toward pop,” Aly adds. “There’s a little bit of an ’80s influence there. Still definitely sounds like Aly & AJ and what we represent — but 10 years later.”

Phil of the Future was one of the best, and also short lived series from Disney Channel.
Starring Raviv Ullman, Aly Michalka, Amelia Buckner and even Brenda Song, the series centered on the Diffy family from 2121, who got stuck in 2004 while on a family vacation.
During a new interview, Aly opened up on how much she keeps in touch with the cast and crew.
“I’m really good friends with one of the producers who directed and wrote a lot of the episodes,” she says. “I’ve been close to him since I was fourteen.”
Aly adds, “Raviv and I keep in touch; we’re Instagram buddies. Whenever I’m in New York or he’s in LA, we try to see each other and get lunch.”
And what about a reunion of any sorts: “I mean, sure! I guess reunions are a big thing now.”
“I wouldn’t be opposed to it. It’s a funny idea. I have no idea what they’d do necessarily with the storyline, but yeah, sure.”

Aly & AJ have made their highly-anticipated return to music after more than a decade, and their fans are sighing with nostalgia and relief at the release of their catchy new song, “Take Me.”
One of those fans is Emma Roberts.
The 26-year-old American Horror Story actress took to Twitter today to celebrate the sisters’ new sound and to remind the world that they all go way back.

Aly & AJ took a ten year hiatus from music before coming back to release the retro pop hit “Take Me” — and now they are opening up about what inspired such a long break from the band.
“We were in a place where making music wasn’t fun to us anymore,” Aly Michalka told Billboard. “It felt like a business.”
They also didn’t have “radio support,” which made success difficult.
“Nobody was really playing Disney acts on the radio,” Aly continued. “When we were signed with Hollywood Records…we didn’t really have radio support over there during that time.”
“I think were also a little wiped out, just from you know touring a lot and, you know, being away from home and our dogs and our dad, and you know at that time we still lived in our family house together.”
They were only 16 and 18 when they decided to take a break, so it’s totally understandable that they needed a breather after so many years in the spotlight at such a young age.
We’re just glad to have them back!
Aly & AJ seriously bite!
The music duo returned on Thursday (September 14) with the music video for their brand new single “Take Me”, and it’s a surefire instant favorite for the vampire lovers out there.
The video also features appearances by Silicon Valley‘s Amanda Crew, Twin Peaks star Madeline Zima and La La Land‘s Josh Pence.
“Shooting a vampire themed video is difficult for somebody like myself who ceases to function after 11 PM, but the enthusiasm and positivity of Aly & AJ motivated the entire crew and resulted in a video full of images I am incredibly proud of,” says the director.

Aly & AJ were prominent figures in many of our childhoods with their hits “Potential Breakup Song” and “Rush,” — but the duo didn’t always see it that way.
“I don’t think we ever thought we reached success,” Aly Michalka told Out Magazine of their initial entrance into music.
“We were actually frustrated we didn’t reach higher success,” she continued. “We never really celebrated those moments, and maybe we should’ve celebrated some more than others.”
“But I don’t think we ever looked at each other and thought, We’re here. It was more like, We’re 50 steps behind.”
Sister AJ agreed.
“I think we felt like we’d done so much as young kids that we didn’t know how to top ourselves,” she explained. “We were like, Is this where it ends? Is this as good as it gets?”
Of course, it isn’t at all: the duo is back and better than ever with their new hit “Take Me,” and we can’t wait to hear more of their new sound.

The track is the second official music release from the sister-duo’s – Aly Michalka and AJ Michalka – forthcoming EP Ten Years, which is set to be released on November 17th.
“I Know” follows lead single “Take Me,” which made its debut over the summer along with an accompanying music video.
“I know/ You know, who’s gonna pick you up/ Who’s gonna take you home (take you home)/ I know,” the girls chant on the chorus.

Aly & AJ are back at it again with the full release of their brand new Ten Years EP, which you can stream right here!
The 4-track set is the sister-duo’s – Aly Michalka and AJ Michalka – first complete musical project since the release of their 2007 Insomniatic album.
Ten Years features the previously released “Take Me” and “I Know,” as well as “Promise” and “The Distance.”
The EP is “a palate cleanser for people to adjust to the new music, because it’s different from anything we’ve ever released,” AJ, 26, told USA Today. She and sister Aly, 28, self-funded the music and are looking to release a full record next year with a major label.
